# Connect Notion to a Shipfox workspace (https://www.shipfox.io/docs/integrations/notion/setup)

## Before you begin [#before-you-begin]

Create a dedicated Notion member for Shipfox. This guide calls that account the
**service member**.

Sign in as the service member when you connect Notion. The service member
chooses which pages to share. Notion creates a Shipfox bot that reads and
changes those pages.

A dedicated account keeps the integration connection working if an employee
leaves or loses access.

Before you start:

* Confirm that your Shipfox role can manage integrations.
* Sign in to Notion as the service member.
* Give the service member access to the pages and teamspaces that workflows need.

On Notion Enterprise, ask a workspace owner to approve **Shipfox** if the
workspace restricts integrations.

If you cannot use a service member, a Notion owner can connect instead. Invite
the owner to the Shipfox workspace before you start.

## Authorize Notion [#authorize-notion]

### Start the integration connection

Open **Settings → Integrations** in the Shipfox workspace. Select
**Notion**, then start the integration connection.

### Sign in with the dedicated service member

Sign in to Notion with the service member. If Notion blocks the connection,
ask a Notion owner to approve **Shipfox**.

### Choose the pages Shipfox can access

Select the pages and teamspaces that workflows need. Child pages inherit
access from a selected parent page.

Repeating OAuth setup replaces the previous page selection. Select every
page that existing workflows still need.

### Record the integration connection slug

Open the new integration connection's menu. Select **Use this integration**.
Copy the slug from the event or tool example. Workflows use the slug as
`source` or `connection`.

## Verify the integration connection [#verify-the-integration-connection]

Open **Settings → Integrations**. Check that the Notion integration connection
is active and advertises Events and Agent tools.

In Notion, open one selected page and confirm that **Shipfox** appears in its
connections. Create a safe page or comment, then confirm that its event appears
under **Settings → Events** in Shipfox.
