# Connect ClickUp to a Shipfox workspace (https://www.shipfox.io/docs/integrations/clickup/setup)

Connect ClickUp when a workflow needs task events or ClickUp tools. See the

## Before you begin [#before-you-begin]

You need access to workspace integration settings. You also need a ClickUp
account that can authorize Shipfox for the target ClickUp workspace.

Use a dedicated ClickUp user account as a service account, not a personal
account. Name it Shipfox so its actions are easy to identify, and grant it only
the access it needs.

Shipfox acts on behalf of this account. Its ClickUp permissions determine which
resources Shipfox can use and which events it can receive. A dedicated account
also avoids tying event delivery to one person's employment or account status.

## Authorize ClickUp [#authorize-clickup]

### Start the integration connection

Open **Settings → Integrations** in the Shipfox workspace. Select
**ClickUp**, then start the integration connection.

### Sign in with the dedicated account

Sign in to ClickUp with the service account. Review its ClickUp permissions
before authorizing Shipfox.

### Authorize one ClickUp workspace

Select exactly one ClickUp workspace. The integration connection cannot be
created when the authorization returns zero or several workspaces.

### Record the integration connection slug

Open the new integration connection's menu. Select **Use this integration**.
Copy the slug from the event or tool example. Workflows use the slug as
`source` or `connection`.

Shipfox searches and receives events from the workspace you selected. A
workflow can still update a task in another workspace when it supplies that
task's ID and the connected account has access.

## Verify the integration connection [#verify-the-integration-connection]

Open **Settings → Integrations**. Check that the ClickUp integration connection
is active and advertises Events and Agent tools.

Create a safe task or comment that the dedicated account can see. Confirm that
the event appears under **Settings → Events**. If you test a write tool, confirm
that ClickUp attributes the change to the dedicated account.

## If events or tools stop working [#if-events-or-tools-stop-working]

Select **Delete integration** for the ClickUp integration connection. Then
connect it again with the dedicated account. ClickUp does not provide an
in-place recovery flow. Shipfox does not replay events missed before the new
integration connection.
